Programmes
The Kitovu Mobile AIDS Organisation works through Programmes which include:
1. Home Based Care and Palliative Care
The Home based Care programme provides medical support to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA),besides Paliiative Care project that provides support to people in great pain such as cancer patients especially those with HIV/AIDS.
2. Orphans and Family Support
The orphans and Family support has three sections:
a) The Mobile Farm Schools that provides training in modern sustainable Organic agriculture,crafts and Home economics and counselling skills to schooldropouts.
b) Grannies and Formal Education:It provides support to grandmothers above 55 years left with the burden of looking after orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC)when their children die of HIV/AIDS. The OVC are provided with school fees and other scholastic materials at various levels of education.
c) The SHG which provides self Help Skills to rural women in Kyanamukaaka that have been marginalised by HIV/AIDs inaddition to poverty.
3. Counselling and training which provides counselling to traumatised orphans and other vulnerable children. It also builds stronger resilence among traumatised OVC through Education for life.
