FOR HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE THE AFRICAN CHILD TO LIVE A HAPPY LIFE
It is really challenging to meet children suffering at an early stage of development, like Nalubwama Grace and Ntege Ssebaggala.
Nalubwama Grace 7 years old and her brother Ntege Ssebaggala (not baptized) five and half years, live in a difficult situation after the death of their mother. Their mother died one year and half ago, when Grace was five years and half and Ntege 4 years old. They were six children; three girls and three boys, after burial, children were shared by relatives.
Nanteza Joan was fourteen and half years, Nakabira Juliet was seven and half years and Sseninde Godfrey at eight months were taken by paternal aunties.
Kisitu Stephen eleven and half years was taken by maternal uncle, Nalubwama Grace five and half years was first taken by the maternal aunt and Ntege Ssebaggala stayed with the father. Nalubwama’s stay with the aunt made her suffer a lot! She was harshly overworked and denied education. She was caring for children of the aunt up to the extent of suffering from backache.

After trauma counselling sensitization one parent was concerned and talked to the father about the child’s condition. This forced the father to collect her from the aunt. more(pdf)
